Position Summary:

The Garbage Collector is a physically demanding, fast-paced, outdoor position responsible for the safe and efficient collection of waste from residential and commercial customers. You will operate a heavy-duty garbage truck, following designated routes to ensure timely service. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, a professional demeanor when interacting with the public, and the ability to work effectively in all weather conditions.

Core Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a commercial garbage truck in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure equipment is in safe working order, reporting any defects or necessary repairs.
• Execute assigned routes, collecting refuse containers and emptying them into the truck.
• Navigate routes efficiently to complete collection services in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, and adhere to all required safety protocols and procedures.
• Conduct routine maintenance on the truck to ensure its longevity and proper functioning.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and fellow team members to ensure seamless operations and address any route-related issues.
